NUTS BAR is the new energy bar containing dried fruit and nuts without a
chocolate base. Nuts Bar is ideal for eating at lunchtime in association with fresh
fruit and fruit juice, or before a competition or training session. Nuts are highenergy
foods because they contain large quantities of lipids, the majority of
which are polyunsaturated. Walnuts are particularly rich in alpha-linoleic acid.
This type of fat is believed to have the capacity to reduce harmful LDL cholesterol
levels in favor of the useful HDL cholesterol.
Being rich in antioxidants, walnuts
can also help to contain oxidative stress and combat skin and cellular aging. The
proteins in walnuts have other therapeutic properties too. They are particularly
rich in arginine, an amino acid that is converted by the cells of vessel walls into
nitric oxide, a substance capable of preventing and combating atherosclerotic
phenomena. They are also rich in mineral salts (copper, zinc, iron and phosphorus)
and in B group vitamins and vitamin E.
Hazelnuts are among the fruits richest in vitamin E. They also contain phytosterols, substances useful in the prevention of cardiac and circulatory
diseases. They contain good-quality fats that are capable of reducing LDL cholesterol levels. Hazelnuts are rich in magnesium too, which regulates the
body’s calcium levels. With the right amount of calcium, the muscles function properly and contract without difficulty. This alleviates muscle strain,
cramps and fatigue. High levels of magnesium also strengthen the muscles.
Almonds are a high-energy food thanks to their abundance of lipids and proteins. They are rich in mineral salts and especially in vitamins E and
monounsaturated fatty acids.
They are useful in controlling cholesterol levels. The abundance of calcium also makes almonds very useful in bone calcification processes. They are
consequently important for people suffering from osteoporosis and help to maintain a regular cardiac function. Among their other properties, they are
plastic and antioxidant (thanks to their high vitamin E content), antiseptic and remineralizing, emollient and laxative (one of the most ancient remedies
for constipation is almond milk), with energetic and tonic effects. Almonds also make the nervous system more efficient and are considered a natural
