CARBO SPRINT EXTREME GEL is a food supplement for sports people that contains carbohydrates for coping with the extra energy demand of people involved in intensive physical activities; it also contains taurine and caffeine (144mg/100g). Carbo Sprint eXtreme contains a combination of carbohydrates and sugars with rapid, moderate and slow absorption rates (dextrose, fructose and maltodextrins), plus caffeine and taurine, which give it a remarkable tonic and ergogenic effect. Dextrose is a simple sugar that becomes promptly bio-available in the blood circulation. From the chemical standpoint, dextrose is a monosaccharide with six carbon atoms (it is a hexose and, to be more precise, an aldohexose because it has an aldehyde function); it is a chiral compound, the enantiomer most abundant in nature, and it is dextrorotary (it turns rightwards in relation to the plane of polarized light), hence the name dextrose. This sugar is the main source of energy in the cells of the human body and many other complex or extremely simple organisms, such as certain bacteria. Fructose is a simple sugar that is metabolized mainly in the liver, but the enzymes that use it have a much lower affinity for it than for the more common sucrose (a disaccharide formed by glucose bonding with fructose), so fructose is used more slowly and more gradually. Large quantities of fructose are stored in adipose tissue, from where it is used when glucose is in short supply after being activated by the hormone glucagon. Fructose does not alter blood sugar levels and consequently does not influence the release of insulin by the pancreatic cells. Maltodextrins are the product of starch splitting by the enzyme alpha-amylase. Starch is a long glucose polymer consisting of chains of amylose (in a linear chain) and amylopectin (in a branched chain). These long glucose chains simply provide a reserve of sugars that are gradually released to sustain the body’s energy reserves for as long as it takes to complete a given physical activity.

Use: the recommended dose is 1-2 packets a day, to be taken before or during training.

Ingredients: water, maltodextrins, dextrose, fructose, Acidifier: citric acid, taurine (0.14%), caffeine (0.14%), Preserving agents: potassium sorbate, sodium benzoate; flavorings.
